Depending on our clients’ needs, the meters’ compliance can be checked against various criteria. The most common: OIML R117, API chapter 4, but also Norsok or criteria set by the client. A certificate of compliance incorporating these criteria can be issued in addition to the COFRAC calibration certificate.
The SPSE calibration station is located within an oil depot, a high threshold SEVESO II site. The calibration station is in an ATEX zone.
Specific safety devices are required and are provided by the station. All efforts are made for work to be carried out in optimal security conditions.
“OUR KNOW-HOW IS UNIQUE AND RECOGNIZED BY REGULATORY BODIES. FOR OUR CLIENTS, THIS IS TESTIMONY OF OUR COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE STANDARDS.”
The laboratory helps to ensure the connection of flow meters to national standards, to perform periodic checks required by regulations, and to carry out testing or expertise on any type of flow meter.
The laboratory was accredited in liquid flow measurement in 1998, by the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC), for flow rates between 150 and 4000 m3/h. This certification guarantees the traceability of results to national standards, as well as control of the laboratory’s measurement uncertainties. In 2015, our laboratory secured an extension of its accreditation for mass flow.
Our station is currently the only one that can edit COFRAC certificates, directly in mass flow.
For lower flow rates, i.e. between 60 m3/h and 150 m3/h, we are in the process of accreditation. Flow rates between 60 and 150 m3/h will therefore be reported as being beyond the scope of accreditation of the COFRAC certificate.
COFRAC (French Accreditation Committee) has the precise mission to certify that bodies are competent and impartial, and to secure European and international recognition of the services they perform.
Obtained for a domain or a skill, it is issued for a renewable fixed duration, during which surveillance audits are conducted.
It validates the competence and relevance of a quality organization.
It is a guarantee of the competence of personnel, men and women of the relevant site, and proposes a clearly defined scope of accreditation for a fixed duration.
